Porch and Patio Covers

Featuring Sunshine Systems Brand W-Pan Patio Covers

Over the last 25 years I have been involved with many Aluminum Awning or Patio Cover installations.  The pictures on this page are all taken from installations in Central Michigan, including Isabella, Mecosta, Gratiot, Clare, Osceola, Gladwin, Midland and Montcalm Counties.  Most often installing the least expensive "Sunshine Systems W-Pan" style, which provides the most "bang for the buck" and is 40 pound snow load rated for up to 12 foot projections (requires 1 foot cantilever).  Although the W-Pan style is our most frugal choice for a Patio Cover, it is still a very strong, functional and attractive unit while maintaining the enticement of a low price Patio Cover.

These pictures are of installed units but with a minimum amount of skills the average Awning or Patio Cover can be purchased as a "Do-it-Yourself" project and installed in a weekend or less.  The standard package price includes all materials including aluminum roof panels, built front gutter support, downspout(s) as required, hardware package (with concrete anchor bolts for posts) and required number of telescoping single posts as needed which attach to underside of the gutter.  Here are a few of the "Basic" installs, as you see our Covers are not just for Mobile Homes:

W-Pan Patio Cover Installed on a Mobile Home, sorry so fuzzy

W-Pan "Gutterless" Door Cover Installed without the standard built in gutter. Recommended for areas with lots of leaves or pine needles.

W-Pan Door Cover Installed over front entry door and cement pad. This home had an issue with rain water getting back into the basement and entry of the home. We were able to contain this rain water and direct the downspout to the gutters on the home.

W-Pan Carport Installed on a Manufactured home. Posts installed to existing cement slab.

W-Pan Patio Cover with drop down curtains Installed on a cottage facing the lake, protecting the home from the evening sun and giving needed privacy by rolling down curtains

The above pictures are good examples of "basic" or standard W-Pan awning installations. While the above units are all attractive and functional from there we can become even more decorative or creative while still utilizing the least expensive aluminum patio cover.  Adding optional support beams and scroll columns or 3 inch square posts are some of the ways we can customize your installation.  See some of our more decorative W-Pan projects:

W-Pan over Front Deck Custom angled supports to allow proper post placement over existing deck steps.

Over Church Entryway Double sets of 3 x 3 supports and "Super Beam" (freestanding unit) installed over door next to building, sealed between to be watertight, while allowing unit to float on cement slab.

And there are also times where the "Gutterless" option is the way to go.  Mainly if the Awning or Carport are under a large tree.  Here are a few of our Gutterless aluminum W-Pan awning installations:
